Melamine
Is melamine right for your needs?
Melamine is a particleboard or MDF panel covered with a decorative paper impregnated with melamine resin, fused under high heat and pressure. The result: a hard, decorative, ready-to-use surface no finishing step required on your end.
Widely used in cabinetmaking, interior fit-outs, and furniture manufacturing, melamine is valued for its price-to-performance ratio, its durability, and the wide variety of finishes available from wood imitations to modern solids.

Frequently asked questions
Melamine is fused directly to the particleboard or MDF panel during manufacturing, making it an integrated, ready-to-use solution. Laminate, by contrast, is a separate sheet that’s then glued to a substrate. Melamine generally offers a better price-to-performance ratio for standard applications, while laminate may be preferred for projects requiring greater durability or specialized finishes.
The melamine surface itself resists surface moisture well. However, if water seeps in through the edges or joints, the core panel can swell. For kitchen or bathroom applications, we recommend properly sealing the edges. Our team can guide you toward the right grade for your project.
Melamine requires the right equipment and technique to avoid chipping on the decorative surface, fine-tooth blade, controlled speed, stable support. That’s exactly why our custom cutting service is appreciated by cabinetmakers and manufacturers: you receive your panels cut to your specifications, with clean edges, ready to integrate into your production.
