MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)
Is MDF right for your needs?
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is a panel made of wood fibres compressed with resin. Its high density and smooth surface make it the reference choice for projects that demand a uniform finish, precision machining, or excellent results after painting or veneering.
Widely used in cabinetmaking and the furniture industry, MDF comes in several grades. Depending on your application visible or hidden face, painted or veneered, indoor or outdoor, there’s almost always an option that strikes the right balance between performance and cost.

Frequently asked questions
MDF is made from finer wood fibres than particleboard, which gives it a smoother surface and a more uniform density. It’s generally preferred when the finish is visible or demanding (painting, veneering, precision machining). Particleboard, being more economical, is often a better choice for non-visible components.
